I've always been envious of those super cute back to school signs that I see other parents post with a colorful chalkboard sign documenting how much their child has grown and I've wondered how in the world do they have time to get it done when I feel lucky to just snap a quick picture before my kiddos get on the school bus.

I now have two versions for you! One is a super cute faux chalk board sign with colorful lettering and the other is great for those that only have a black and white printer and it uses less ink. So now I am excited to offer two different versions for you to choose from. Yes, of course they are both FREE!

This is a super simple way to create super cute first day of school signs and just like my totally awesome chore chart system it's modular! This means you can keep it super simple with just a quick print and click or dress it up a bit with details and a frame.

I've even added a black and white option for those of you that may not have color printers and it's just as adorable!

I'll show you exactly what you need and where to get it.

Option 1: Quick, Easy, and FREE

Have your kiddo hold the sign and click the picture. That's it!

Download and Print your free first day of school printables. All downloads, even the free ones, are now available in our SHOP page under PRINTABLES!
Next write in your child's details with a white sharpie poster paint marker if writing on the faux chalk board background or just a regular black sharpie marker if using the black and white option. (click the links to find on Amazon - it's Prime)
Tape the two 8.5x11 downloaded files together on the backside.
These will fit perfectly into a 11x17 inch frame!

PRINTING TIP*: No matter which version you choose you will want to print them on plain white paper. Last year I was asked a few times if you print the chalk board signs on black paper - the answer is NO you print it on white paper and your printer will print the faux chalk board onto the page.
